Model Designer - Defines the interactions with external systems and users to be implemented by developers for use in Action Plans. Provides a repository for the definitions of all actions, user actions, events and data types.

Action Plan Designer - Provides a visual environment for non-programmers to create Action Plans from available events, actions and user actions. Validates Action Plan execution logic and assists users in creating valid plans. Allows users to simulate and debug actions plans, simulate inputs and outputs, and record testing procedures. Provides users with the ability to deploy Action Plans into a controlled environment prior to activation on the Catalyst xM Server.

Transaction Engine - Allows authorized users to deploy, activate and deactivate Action Plans and events. Monitors exception events and loads waiting or activates new Action Plans in response to exception events. Tracks and triggers timeouts; handles and reports execution errors. Provides real-time fault tolerance and persistence to a Microsoft SQL Server database.  Captures deployment and execution history of Models, Action Plans, actions and events.

Action and Event Providers - Implemented on the Catalyst SDP™ System Development Platform. Provides developers with the ability to easily create and implement actions and events utilizing the rich feature set of Catalyst SDP™ and full access to the Microsoft .NET Framework.

User Actions and Portal Interface (Microsoft SharePoint) - Provides developers with the ability to design and deploy user actions within the Microsoft SharePoint portal utilizing the SharePoint Designer. Allows users to interact with Action Plans through an intuitive web portal.

Manufacturing Intelligence Database - Automatically captures event triggers Action Plan execution and related data for historical analysis to support continuous improvement efforts and provide decision support.

Portal Roles (Microsoft Active Directory) - Integrated support of user roles based on Microsoft Active Directory.
